2013 VINTAGE
Napa Valley’s 2013 harvest was considered a repeat of the 2012 harvest, characterized with a warm, dry spring, early bud break and other near perfect conditions to create for exceptional fruit. Temperatures were rarely variable with the exception of one heat spell in late June, which helped the vines stay healthy and supported consistent ripening of the grapes. By October when the varietal was harvested the grapes had experienced a long hang time that provided spectacular flavor and yields.
85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc,
5% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot.
Grown predominantly on the hillside part of Rutherford and Spring Mountain.
Winemaker: Miguel Caratachea
Alcohol 14.5%
Residual Sugar 0.24%
Volatile Acidity .79 g/L
Titratable Acidity 6.3g/L
pH 3.81
TASTING NOTES
Color: Vibrant garnet hue with a deep purple core.
Aromatics: Bing cherry and dark mocha with a dusting of vanilla and framboise.
Palate: Rich and mouth-filling with ripe flavors of cassis, dark chocolate with coffee, huckleberry and a slight dustiness of graphite on the persistent finish.
