VINTAGE 2013 Napa Valley’s 2013 harvest was considered a repeat of the 2012 harvest, characterized with a warm, dry spring, early bud break and other near perfect conditions to create for exceptional fruit. Temperatures were rarely variable with the exception of one heat spell in late June, which helped the vines stay healthy and supported consistent ripening of the grapes. A mid-September shower didn’t affect the final push for ripening with the Cabernet Sauvignon, so by October when the varietal was harvested the grapes had experienced a long hang time that provided spectacular flavor and yields. The resulting wines may go down as one of the vintages of the century. See for yourself when you experience the deep color, structure, concentration and balance of this vintage of Vitesse. Our winemaker Miguel Caratachea has once again crafted an exceptionally balanced wine, blessed with a deep garnet hue and enticing aromas of vanilla, cinnamon and framboise. Against this rich and textured palate you'll discover flavors of current, sweet cassis, huckleberry and pencil shavings supported by supple tannins and a long finish. Drink now or cellar for 8 years or longer. |
