ATTRIBUTES
Color: Vibrant garnet hue with a deep purple core.
Aromatics: Tobacco, tar and dark mocha with a dusting of vanilla and framboise
Palate: Rich and mouth-filling with ripe flavors of cassis, dark chocolate with coffee, huckleberry, cinnamon and wet gravel
Structure: Depth and length with a perfect balance of acidity and tannin along with super-fine tannins, richness and weight, and great persistence in a long finish.

VINTAGE 2016
The 2016 growing season in Napa Valley was near-perfect, with an early start but moderate weather conditions throughout the late Spring into early Fall. Mild temperatures throughout the Summer progressed into some nice warm days and cool nights at the close of the season. This kicked up the grapes' growth into an optimal level of ripeness, with a final coda of an autumn rainstorm in mid-October.

We feel blessed by Mother Nature and our Winemaker Miquel Caratachea as they have delivered a sixth vintage of Vitesse that will delight with its spectacular quality, nuance and finesse.

As in previous vintages, Vitesse has shown itself to be elegant and gorgeous, a wine crafted from almost 100 lots of mainly hillside Napa Valley fruit as well as lots from other premium sites. The wines received exceptional care, with frequent barrel topping and "délestage," which gently extracts the phenolic compounds by oxygenating the juice to produce a softer, less astringent wine exhibiting more fruit character. 

Vitesse shares the timeless characteristics of many luxury Cabernets: concentration, depth and layered nuance. This wine tantalizes with lavish aromas of ripe cherry, tobacco, mocha and spice. Expansive on the palate, the core of fine tannins and vivid acidity spreads across a soft, velvety texture and lingering, mouth watering finish. ​
